Stuck crypto deposit: what to do when the money does not reach the casino balance

You sent crypto to the casino, but the balance is still zero. Usually the cause is one of five: the transaction is waiting in the mempool, there are too few confirmations, the memo is missing, the network was wrong or the casino is holding the deposit. How to tell which, and what to do in each case.

A crypto deposit seems simple: copy the address, send, wait. Mostly it is. But if the balance does not appear, panic sets in fast — and a second transfer made in panic, or a hurried message to "support" on social media, only makes things worse.

A calm diagnosis takes a couple of minutes. You need only one thing: the transaction hash, the TXID. Find it in the wallet's or exchange's transaction history and open the right network's block explorer: for Bitcoin for example mempool.space, for Ethereum and ERC-20 Etherscan, for Tron and TRC-20 Tronscan.

Step 1: is the transaction on the chain at all?

If the block explorer cannot find the TXID, there are three possibilities. You are searching the wrong network's explorer. You copied the hash only partly. Or the transaction has not even reached the network yet — exchanges sometimes process withdrawals in batches, and "sent" at the exchange may mean "queued". In that case it is a question for the exchange, not the casino.

Step 2: is the transaction waiting in the mempool?

If the explorer shows the status "pending" or "unconfirmed", the transaction is in the mempool: sent but not yet written into a block. With Bitcoin the cause is almost always a low fee compared with current load. Options:

  • wait — the transaction confirms when load drops;
  • if the wallet supports RBF (replace-by-fee), send the same transaction with a higher fee;
  • if the transaction drops out of the mempool after a while, the money stays in your wallet and you can send again.

Casino support cannot speed up a transaction in the mempool. Only the network can help here.

Step 3: are there enough confirmations?

If the transaction is in a block but the balance does not appear, look at the number of confirmations. Each casino requires a certain number of confirmations for each network before the balance is credited — it should be stated in the cashier or the FAQ. On Bitcoin waiting for several confirmations can take half an hour to an hour, on faster networks minutes. If there are fewer confirmations than required, the answer is patience.

Step 4: was a memo or tag needed?

If the transaction is confirmed and the recipient address is right but there is still no balance, look at the casino cashier's deposit view again. Was there a "memo", "tag", "destination tag" or "comment" field? If there was and you did not fill it in, the money reached the casino's shared address, but the system does not know whose it is. More: memo / destination tag.

What to do: write to support through the casino's official chat or email and send the TXID, amount, the coin and network name, the sending address and the time. The fix is manual and can take time; some casinos charge for it. There is no guarantee.

Step 5: was the network wrong?

The most expensive mistake. If you sent USDT on ERC-20 but the casino address was for TRC-20, or sent from a layer-2 network the casino does not support, the money may never reach the balance. The outcome depends on whether the casino controls the destination address on the other network too and whether it is willing to rescue the money manually. Sometimes that is possible, sometimes not. The difference between networks is set out in the post TRC-20 vs ERC-20.

Step 6: everything is right, but still no balance

If the transaction is confirmed, the address, network and memo are right and there are enough confirmations, the ball is in the casino's court. Possible reasons: a technical delay, an amount below the minimum deposit (often not credited at all — check the cashier's minimum), an account review or a KYC threshold. Write to support with the TXID and keep the reply. If no reply comes, the complaints guide helps.

How to avoid this next time

  • Send a small test amount above the minimum to a new casino first.
  • Copy the address and memo from the cashier every time, not from history — see address poisoning.
  • Choose the network whose name in the cashier is word for word the same as in the wallet or exchange.
  • With Bitcoin check the fee before sending, or use Lightning if the casino supports it.
  • Save every TXID.

And most importantly: do not send a second deposit while waiting. Two stuck deposits solve nothing, and if both eventually arrive there is more money at the casino than you planned. Set limits before, not after. Help: 15410.

Support does not write to you first If you post about your problem on social media and someone immediately offers help in a private message, it is almost certainly a scammer. Contact support only through the official channel on the casino's site.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a crypto deposit usually take?

It depends on the network and the number of confirmations the casino requires. On fast networks it is often a matter of minutes, on the Bitcoin chain rather half an hour or more. You will find the exact requirement in the casino's cashier or FAQ.

Can a casino return money sent on the wrong network?

Sometimes, if the destination address is under the casino's control on the other network too and the casino agrees to rescue the money manually. It is not an obligation and may cost. That is why it always pays to check the network before sending.

What if I sent less than the minimum deposit?

Many casinos do not automatically credit an amount below the minimum. Write to support with the TXID and ask whether the amount will be added to the next deposit or returned. Terms differ from casino to casino.
