Why we built these calculators

Casino offers are written so that the big number is visible and the real cost is hidden. The point of these tools is to work out that difference before you decide — not after.

Working out a bonus's real value takes three inputs: the bonus amount, the wagering requirement and the game's RTP. The result is the expected outcome in euros. For most offers that number is negative, and that is not a bug — it is the reason casinos offer bonuses at all. The question is how negative.

Working out the size of the wagering shows how much turnover you have to generate. A €100 bonus with a 35× requirement means €3,500 of turnover; if you play table games, where the weighting is 10%, that becomes €35,000. This number surprises almost everyone.

Working out the withdrawal outlook helps estimate how long moving the money really takes, taking the network and the casino's confirmation threshold into account.

How to read the result

The calculator does not tell you whether to play. It tells you what an offer costs statistically if you play it to the end. A single evening can go any way — statistics apply to repetition, not to one case.

Two things to keep in mind about the result. First: RTP is a long-run average, not a promise. Second: if the expected outcome is strongly negative, that does not mean you will certainly lose — it means the offer is tilted in the casino's favour more than an ordinary game without a bonus.

The numbers to feed into the calculator are next to each offer on the bonuses page and in each house's terms in the ranking. If you want to put two casinos directly side by side, use the casino head-to-heads.

Responsible-gambling tools — limits, self-assessment, self-exclusion — are collected on the responsible gambling page. If play stops being entertainment, Estonia's free counselling line 15410 is open around the clock.

When a calculator does not help

An honest note. A calculator tells you what an offer costs statistically. It does not tell you whether you should play, and it does not protect you from playing more than you planned.

If you notice you are using the calculator to justify a decision you have already made — rather than to make one — that is a sign worth paying attention to. For that there is the self-assessment and the responsible gambling page.

The calculators are meant for before the decision, not after it. Used that way, they genuinely save money.
