Crypto payments at a casino

Which crypto suits casino payments? BTC, ETH, USDT (TRC-20 and ERC-20), LTC, TRX and XMR side by side: confirmation time, network fee and privacy.

Crypto payment methods differ at a casino in three things: how fast the confirmation comes, what the transfer costs and how much of your transaction stays publicly visible on the chain. Below are the most common networks side by side and a short guide on when to choose which. The casino's own processing time is added to the network's time — we track that separately in every test cycle.

The short answer

If you do not want to weigh six networks for long, choose USDT on the Tron network (TRC-20): the value is tied to the dollar, the confirmation comes within seconds and the network fee stays at the level of a cent. If a casino does not support TRC-20, the next choice is Litecoin. Bitcoin works practically everywhere, but there is the most waiting there.

The payment methods side by side

The table sums up what really counts when choosing a network: how long to wait for a confirmation, what a transfer costs and how much of a transaction stays publicly visible. The specific fees depend on network load, so we keep to an order of magnitude here rather than a day's price.

Payment methodConfirmation timeThe network feePrivacyWhen to choose it
USDT · TRC-20SecondsCent levelA public chainThe default choice for most
USDT · ERC-20MinutesVariableA public chainWhen TRC-20 is not on offer
TRXSecondsCent levelA public chainWhen the casino takes TRX separately
LTCA few minutesVery lowA public chainWhen a stablecoin is not offered
ETHMinutesVariableA public chainLarger amounts, ETH already in hand

XMRMinutesLowHiddenWhen privacy is the main criterion

Confirmation time is a property of the network, not of the casino — it starts running from the moment the casino sends the transaction out. When a withdrawal drags on for hours, the reason is usually a manual check or a document demand, not the blockchain. And no speed brings back money that went to the wrong network.

A guide to choosing

What to know about each network

Four things that most often cost either money or time.

USDT (TRC-20) is the right choice by default

The value is tied to the dollar, so a win does not swing while you wait. The only serious danger is the network: an ERC-20 transfer sent to a TRC-20 address does not arrive. Check the network twice before sending and use the address generated by the casino itself, not an old saved one.

BTC is the slowest but the most universal

Practically every crypto casino supports Bitcoin, so it is the safe common denominator. A withdrawal waits for block confirmations and that waiting is not the casino's fault. A promise of an immediate BTC withdrawal means the casino carries the risk and pays out before the confirmation.

XMR is the maximum of privacy

Monero's transactions are not publicly traceable on the chain, unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum, where every address's history is visible to anyone. There are few supporters and the rate fluctuates, but by the criterion of privacy there is no substitute for it. The alternative is to use a separate wallet for the casino.

The fiat entry and exit go through an exchange

For buying and selling crypto you use an exchange or a payment account; these sites do not pay out from the casino straight to a bank account. That is the point: the casino sees only your wallet and the bank sees only the exchange transaction.

Do not move wins to an exchange whose account profile does not match your turnover — the exchange may ask for proof of the money's origin. Keep the transaction statements and the play history. The whole route from euros to a balance is in the guide how to buy crypto.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I sent USDT on the wrong network. Is the money gone?
If you sent a TRC-20 transfer to an ERC-20 address (or the other way round), write to the casino's support immediately and add the transaction ID. Some casinos can recover such a transfer, usually for a fee, but there is no guarantee. That is exactly why it is worth sending a small test amount first.
Why does a deposit require confirmations?
The casino waits for block confirmations in order to rule out double spending. In Bitcoin that means one or two blocks, on TRC-20 seconds. That is not the casino being slow but a property of the network.
Can the casino see my wallet's history?
On public networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum, an address's history is visible to anyone who has that address. If that bothers you, use a separate wallet for the casino or choose Monero.
How large an amount should be sent first of all?
Small enough that losing it would not bother you. A first transfer to a new casino is a test of the address and the network, not a deposit. Only once the test amount is visible in the balance, send the rest.
Why does the casino ask for the same network for a withdrawal as the deposit came from?
It is a standard anti-money-laundering requirement: money has to move back along the same channel. Choose the network thoughtfully already at the moment of the deposit, then — changing it later usually means correspondence with support.

The first transfer is always a test

To a new casino or a new address, send a small amount first and wait until it reaches the balance. Money sent to the wrong network is not recovered by any casino with a guarantee — at best support helps by the transaction ID and for a fee. Only once the test transfer has arrived, send the rest.

When you do not have crypto yet

Euros reach a casino balance in three steps: an exchange account and a SEPA deposit, buying a stablecoin and a transfer to your own wallet on the TRC-20 network. The only things that make this chain expensive are choosing the wrong network or the exchange's own withdrawal fee — the network fee itself stays marginal for an ordinary deposit. The exact route together with the fees is set out in the guide how to buy crypto.

The same route works in reverse. A withdrawal comes to your wallet, from there to the exchange and from the exchange to a bank account; the casino itself does not make a bank transfer. Every step is a separate channel, so keep the statements — if the exchange later asks about the origin of the money, the chain is already there in your own accounts.

The choice of payment method does not make a casino trustworthy. Crypto only makes the movement of money fast and cheap; whether a withdrawal comes at all is decided by the licence, the terms and the casino's own way of working. So alongside the payment method always look at the casino's assessment and terms.
