A limit that exists only in your head is not a limit
A loss limit works only when it is written into the system and holds even at the moment you would rather it did not. A limit in your head ("I will stop at a hundred euros") disappears at exactly the point where it would be needed most — that is not a matter of willpower but of how the urge to win a loss back works.
How to choose the number. Start from a monthly amount whose loss changes nothing in your life. Divide it by the number of times you play in a month — that is the single-session limit. If the result seems absurdly small, that is useful information: it means your current playing pace assumed a bigger budget than you thought.
At a crypto casino the limit is your own job. At Estonian-licensed casinos setting a limit is a mandatory feature and HAMPI self-exclusion closes every site at once. Crypto houses have neither: some have a voluntary limit setting, most do not. That is why the limit has to be set outside the casino — at the wallet level, with a separate balance you do not top up.
Three practical techniques. Keep playing money in a separate wallet and do not keep more there than the limit allows. Use the auto-mode loss cap when playing originals games. And withdraw as soon as a win arrives — money left on the account almost always gets played away.
When the limit does not hold. If you notice you are adding money or raising the stake after a loss, take the self-assessment. Free and anonymous counselling: 15410. If you want to play in an environment where self-exclusion genuinely works, Estonian-licensed houses are collected in the pangakasiinod.ee and freespin.ee comparisons.
