Gas, or why the same transfer costs a different price
Gas is the Ethereum network’s unit of account: every transaction consumes a certain amount of gas and you pay a price for it that is set at auction. A simple ETH transfer always consumes the same amount, but the price changes minute by minute according to how many people are using the network at once.
The practical consequence: the same deposit can cost fifty cents in the morning and five euros in the evening. Anyone making frequent small deposits loses more to fees than to the house edge. The remedy is either a larger and rarer transfer or a cheaper network — TRC-20 for USDT.

Are ERC-20 USDT and ETH the same thing?
