What provably fair proves

The scheme has three parts. The casino generates a server seed and shows you its hash — a one-way fingerprint from which the original value cannot be computed back. You supply a client seed, which you can choose yourself. The round’s result is calculated from both together, and the server seed is revealed later so you can match the hash.

If the hash of the revealed seed matches the one you were shown before the game, one specific thing is proven: the casino did not change the result after your bet. That is an important guarantee and an ordinary casino does not have it — there you have to trust an auditor and a regulator.

But it does not prove everything. Provably fair says nothing about whether the house edge is fair, whether the withdrawal will arrive, whether the bonus terms are reasonable or whether the account will be closed after a win. Those are entirely different risks and we measure them separately.

    Run the revealed seed through a SHA-256 calculator and compare it with the hash you copied in the first step. They must match character for character.
